We are transforming the exhibition areas of the Gorenjska Museum into places for gatherings and this is why, aside from the expert smaller group guided tours of the permanent and temporary exhibitions and the town of Kranj, we also organise public tours through the permanent collections, various museum and learning workshops, and so forth.
We also organise guided tours of the Gorenjska Museum exhibitions for kindergartens, schools and adult groups. We run museum and learning workshops and excursions in Kranj entitled This is my Home, Let’s Make Earrings, The Museum Postcard, Let’s Take a Peek Into Grandma’s Chest and My First Visit to the Museum for pupils of the 1st and 2nd grade of elementary school and others. In Bohinj, we organise the Weaving With the Use of a Simple Wooden Weaving Board, Old Children’s Games, Churning Butter in a Wooden Butter Tub, A Tannery Workshop, Learning About Nature, Learning About Archaeology, World War One in Bohinj, Iron Manufacturing and Architecture in Bohinj workshops and events, while similar ones are also held in Vrba.
Several groups are also active under the guidance of the museum, aimed primarily at adults and under the mentorship of museum workers. The advantages of these groups are that they are held in small number of participants, can independently set the group’s goals, teamwork and foster friendly interaction within the group.
